"Alcohol and drugs" - Zakopane police examined over two thousand drivers
As part of the provincial “Alcohol and Drugs” campaign conducted by the Zakopane police on Monday morning, officers checked 2,091 drivers. The campaign, which lasted from 6:00 to 9:00, aimed to increase road safety and minimize the number of accidents caused by drunk or drugged drivers.
Specialist equipment for detecting psychoactive substances in drivers' bodies was used to carry out the activities. Numerous checkpoints were organized in the Tatra district, where the police checked the sobriety of road users. As a result of these activities, two drunk drivers were detained - a 32-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, who lost their driving licenses.
During the operation, the police also identified one wanted person and two drivers without a driving license. Officers announce that similar operations will continue in the near future.
We remind you that driving under the influence of alcohol is punishable by imprisonment for up to 3 years.
