How to behave in TPN

In the park, follow current rules and treat nature protection as part of the day’s plan.

Visiting Tatra National Park means sharing a protected landscape rather than using an outdoor attraction without limits. Staying on the permitted route and following current rules protects wildlife, vegetation and the predictability that other visitors need.

Make park rules part of navigation

Read the official visitor and walking guidance before you go. A restriction or marked rule is route information: change the plan instead of treating it as an inconvenience to bypass.

Stay where visitors are meant to be

Do not create shortcuts, leave a marked route or look for a private photo position. Small detours can damage vulnerable ground and can make it harder for others to follow the intended path.

Reduce your disturbance

Keep voices and music low, take litter away and give animals space. Wildlife is not a close-up opportunity; it is a reason to observe quietly and alter your direction when necessary.

Respect other people’s margin

Do not block narrow sections for photographs or pressure another party to move faster. A protected park works better when each group leaves room for the next decision.

What to do when you encounter wildlife or a restricted section

Do not approach, feed or pursue an animal, and do not cross a closure to continue the plan. Follow official guidance, retreat or choose another permitted option. If there is an immediate emergency, call 112 and report your location.

  • All litter will leave the park with us.
  • We will observe wildlife from a respectful distance.
  • Our photos will not require blocking a path or leaving it.
